About SUNYOUNG Lee, PhD
For many years, I lived a life shaped by achievement and forward momentum. I pursued higher education, built a stable career, and worked for the U.S. Department of State as a Learning Counselor and Faculty Trainer. Like many people, I believed happiness lived somewhere in the future — in the next accomplishment, the next milestone, the next plan. Each goal brought a moment of relief, yet before long another horizon appeared, quietly suggesting that fulfillment was still just ahead.
About ten years ago, something shifted within me in a way I could never have planned. On an ordinary day, without any change in my external circumstances, I experienced a deep and unmistakable sense of peace and joy arising from within. Unconditional peace, happiness, and love lasted about a week — but that brief glimpse of awakening was enough to show me that what I had been searching for outside myself had always been here, in the present moment.
From that point on, my striving gradually began to soften. Instead of chasing fulfillment in the future, I became curious about the inner world — the patterns of thought, perception, and meaning that shape how we experience life. As I began to see these inner patterns more clearly, something surprising happened: when the inner narrative shifted, life on the outside began to change as well.
Over time, life gently carried me toward the kind of simplicity I had always quietly longed for. I eventually chose to retire early in 2021 and have lived a slower, more intentional life between Jeju Island of South Korea, Puerto Rico, and now Florida.
What continues to amaze me is how life unfolds when we begin listening inwardly. Again and again, events have appeared that can only be described as synchronicity — unexpected meetings, opportunities, and turns in the path that feel less like something I planned and more like something life arranged.
Along the way, I also became a certified life coach, building on my years of experience working with people one-on-one. At the heart of my work is a simple intention: to create a space where we can slow down, be present, look more honestly at what is happening within us, and discover what becomes possible when we see something from a wider, more spacious perspective.
In many ways, that same unfolding and intention have led to this moment — to the possibility of meeting you here.
Through the Inner Rewrite Gathering and Conscious Coaching, I offer a space for people who feel drawn to explore their own inner patterns and perspectives. My work is not about giving fixed answers, but about creating a field of compassionate awareness where new insight can emerge and a deeper alignment with life becomes possible.
When we begin to see ourselves and this moment with fresh clarity, life naturally begins to rewrite itself from the inside out. And every moment becomes an invitation to discover who we truly are.
